Time Lapse video of a Global Express 8C Inspection

Standard Aero website

I've no idea why it's posting it twice?, as long as it works - just one video!

Still interesting to watch... Find all this sort of stuff fascinating.

Not quite the same, but doing an aircraft visit during my 747 conversion course, I got to go into the avionics bay and into the cargo hold... I was over the moon!

With an aeroplane that has fully hydraulic powered controls, then surface balancing is not necessary, simples.

Not as I recall. Any slop in the linkages can cause flutter/control reversal with unbalanced control surfaces.

There is always a linkage. The PCU has a ball link with a pin through it on the A/C structure and the same on the control surface. Any wear on these results in movement.
