Seeking work etc... seems to have slowed, why?
Having been in the job hunting position twice over the last few years I thought I'd stop by and see how the 'seeking work' section of this board is. I've notice that there seems to be a lot less people posting on there.
Is that because the market is improving/less people being laid off, people finding work quicker, or do people just not bother?
What do you think. Could it be a sign of an improving market or anything else?

There has been some movement at our place on all levels from 250 hour FO's to experienced Captains. Our crewing levels have actually increased over the last few years as our aircraft have been doing more and more.
I would however say that our turnover has remained pretty constant so that doesn't really help with your question about whether things have improved recently.

Wow, thanks windy, that's good to hear there's been some movement and actually an increase in your crewing. I wonder if anyone else has any ideas. I notice that there does seem to be more recruitment but all I really see is for type rated guys.
The only company I see in Europe that are openly taking non-typed seems to be Vista on their CL850's.

I'm still looking and still posting. Seems to be nothing out there for low hours non rated people. Can't get experience without a job and can't get a job without experience. A catch 22 situation, I guess.

As a fresh grad Cessnagirl's post stayed as she offered a background other than her bare licence that might be of interest to an operation.
And that's a general procedure - freshly minted pilots posting get binned unless they are bringing another chunk of aviation experience to the party.

Thanks for the insight Rob, didn't know that you 'trimmed' out the excess posts, I guess a bare 250hr CPL/IR has no real info. At the end of the day we all have a CPL/IR or ATPL with a Class 1 medical. Hours, additional endorsements and what we can bring to the party are the valuable bits of information.
I guess either people have had no luck on there or the industry is either stabilising or picking up a little. Back when I was pursuing new opportunities I did actually have some luck on this forum and actually got a job offer from a contact I made on here, so networking here does work. I was rated and current on type though.
As for cessnagirl, hang in there, I was in the exact same boat. It will one day turn in your favour. Keep looking, chasing and networking like crazy. In my opinion it's all worth it in the end.
Back to the original question. Has the industry improved thus less people need to post or has it become a case of 'don't think it works so won't bother'? Did anyone else find work by posting there?
