Leather jacket
...since I don't like the uniform-jacket and would never wear it anyway, I am looking for a replacement of my leather-jacket I was wearing during the last years. In our business you see pilots wearing leather jackets from time to time, so I am asking about your experience.
My previous jacket was something like this:
Professional Pilots Black Leather Flight Jacket
it had a removable sheepskin-collar and inner jacket, so it was perfect for both summer/winter. That is why I don't like the transair-jacket so much- because it doesn't have this feature.
Which jacket do you like- which one fits good to the rest of the uniform of the state-of-the-art bizjet-pilot?

In my dreams I'am wearing one of these: https://www.original-fliegerjacken.de/
Until then it's writing applications and wearing H&M stuff.
Anyone looking for a non-rated 700h pilot?

One of the best quality uniform-style leather flight jackets is made by Perrone Leather in New York, USA. They don't offer much of a selection, and aren't open to much in the way of customizing, but their jackets are very nice. Professional Aviator - Shoulder Boards - Name Tags - Gloves
If you want to customize your jacket, Pops Leather in Adana, Turkey will make almost anything, and they do good work. They have a large, customizable selection. Pop's Leather Online Store | Airline Flight Jackets
Another choice is Oxford Leather, in Korea. I have one of their jackets; I've heard others complain that the leather dye bleeds into their shirt. I haven't seen this happen. It's been no problem with mine, and I haven't seen it on anyone else's jackets. They tend to make a very heavy jacket...everybody that tries it on comments on how heavy the jacket is. Oxford Leathershop - Manufacturer Of Quality Leather Jackets.
Gibson & Barnes, San Diego, California, makes good products. They used to be Flight Suits Unlimited, and I own one of their helmets and some of their flight gear. It's well made. They also offer a clearance section with products that were order overruns or items that were custom ordered and then not taken...they have some very good deals. Leather Jackets
Alpha Industries makes a lot of military gear, but also leather jackets, including some leather versions of the official-issue gear they make. Leather Flight Jackets by Alpha Industries | Official Online Store | Authentic Military Fashion | ShopAlpha Industries

I can second Gibson & Barnes of San Diego, excellent products and a great personal service. If you happen to be in the area they usually give you a guided tour of their factory. Dave Marshall seems to be the guy in charge and he's an ex corporate Pilot.
Aviation Leathercraft at Thruxton provided the uniform leather jackets at my last outfit. Mine is still going strong, after nearly ten years.
Ours was this one Aviation Aircrew Jacket
Cheesy pic, good jacket.

Thank you for the flowers jetopa,
#1 turned down my application due to wrong rating (me ain't cat-suit-rated).
#4 sent me home cause i lack the hours required for that kind of uniform ... he seems to have 613200 hours (70 years old?) thats something I can't compete with.
Have fun, enjoy the weekend.

How did you find the Aviation Leathercraft Aircrew Jacket? I own one and its quite handy with the four pockets. Shame it does not come with a velro flap for sleeve pocket.
cheers
I bought a Jacket from Aviation Leathercraft about 25 years ago.
When the lining wore out about 10 years ago I sent it back to them and they relined it and it came back good as new. If you want a good solid leather jacket that wears well. I can highly recommend them.
I just noticed that this is a 6 year old thread being revived.

@chopper2004: Citations.
My jacket is still going, so 16 years old now. As others have mentioned, when the liner finally wore out they relined the jacket and even worked some magic on the leather - when it came back, it almost looked new. I love it; far more practical than the massively old-fashioned monkey suits or modern lounge lizard look. Plus, I didn't have to carry an extra coat for wandering around town in the evenings when away in winter.
