The sadist pictures I have seen of beautiful aircraft.

At least they have held their heads high.

Surviving Hangar Shored Against Storm

Publication Date: 10-FEB-10
Author: Nadine M. Post
Format: HTML

Description:
Staying just hours ahead of another snow storm expected to hit Virginia’s Dulles International Airport on Feb. 10, about 40 workers from Miller & Long Concrete Construction, Bethesda, Md., installed 65 towers to shore the sole-surviving aircraft hangar unit at the three-year-old United Jet Center. Three other units at the private hangar collapsed during a Feb. 6 storm, which dumped 35.5 in. of wet snow on the facility’s roof. No one was injured during the three collapses, but many of the 14 aircraft were damaged.

All write offs?
14 of them apparently were, according to the news article below...

"No Dulles Jet Center personnel were injured in the mishap, but 14 business jets – Gulfstreams, Bombardier Globals and Dassault Falcons – were crushed by structural beams.
According to industry sources, all of the damaged aircraft are write-offs, with damages for the jets estimated at more than $300 million."

Snow fells Dulles Jet Center hangars: AINonline

The owner claims he has "more than adequate insurance to cover the jet and facility damages"...

He may have, right at present... but I'd hate to see his insurance premiums, next time he wants to insure a hangar...

Who in their right mind, builds a skillion-roof hangar, in heavy snow country??
