Bombardier Terminates Purchase Agreement with Jet Republic

Is the fractional business model bust?

Bombardier Aerospace has terminated its firm and conditional
order purchase agreement with Jet Republic in respect of all aircraft. The order for 110
Learjet 60 XR
aircraft, consisting of 25 firm orders and 85 conditional orders, to Jet Republic

was originally announced on June 20, 2008.

It's fractional ownership, not charter.

Though two days ago they announced they would start charter flights, but it really wasn't going to happen...

CTC Response

Just recieved this:

Thank you for your interest in Jet Republic. Unfortunately, we have to inform you that Jet Republic was declared insolvent yesterday. The announcement was sudden and is disappointing for all; sadly it means that we are not able to continue with your application and will not be in a position to respond to any phone or email enquires with immediate effect.

Depending on your current employment status, you may be interested in registering with CTC FlexiCrew - CTC's database of qualified pilots. For further information and to register, log on to CTC FlexiCrew - Aircrew supply for airlines. We hope this will prove to be of some use to you in your search for future employment.

We would like to take this opportunity to thank you for corresponding with CTC Aviation and wish you every success for the future.

Regards

CTC Aviation

I could never see how this would work in a recession. Still a shame though.
