Jet Alliance Vienna - What´s going on?

Has anybody some insights how this company is currently performing.

Is there sufficient demand for charter?

Rumour has it the airbus was meant to turn up in August and has been delayed until November. I'm guessing they cant sell it or raise the 50 million to finance it. I think the get out clause is 12 million euros and down payment was 6 million, could be a costly exercise for them, lot of money to loose, anyone know any different?

Bringing this thread back from the dead.

What is the current status at JA? Is the 18/12 schedule being honored? What pay can one expect as FO/CA on a super midsize jet? Do they promote FOs to CAs from within?

Any info would be highly appreciated .

heard they lost another aircraft end of this month to mapjet, seem to be loosing a lot to other operators, owners see through the hot air and dont seem to have any new stuff to replace the ones gone or very few! very top heavy company financially, but somehow still going.

Seems they offload the aircraft with trouble owners (late payers, a big issue in this climate) to the likes of MAPJET and AVCON.. AVCON for one were offering unrealistic running costs to attract more aircraft. Have never met anyone that had a good word to say about AVCON and they are the kings of hot air. Jet alliance Still the biggest Biz jet company in Austria as far as I know.. They make no money on their charter, just aircraft sales and a strong maintenance department. Must be doing something right.

Offload aircraft? Maybe some but the challenger 300 they just lost also to Mapjet also owns 2 gulfstream g550. I would guess JA are starting to panic about loosing the other 2 from the owner as well. Give another company one of your aircraft and see how they get on. If they do a good job the other 2 will follow

How can JA be making any money at the moment? don't see many aircraft sales in the current market as before. if that's where you think they make their money. Maintenance? owners can't be getting value for money service, must be expensive if that's what they make their income from !

As I understand it, Jet alliance did buy some aircraft recently. There Maintenance department is profitable and they have other companies linked to them that do well. I hear they dont call applicants back after interviews much which is poor.

I cant speak much more about Jet alliance but to call AVCON dynamic is strange. All the original crews left and said they were garbage to work for. I knew one ex pilot that claimed they were flat out ignoring things like severely worn tires to "save money and not upset the owner". Coloured the worn sections with black marker apparently. He said they just kept him on duty for prolonged periods and threatened him when he wanted to leave.

Would be interesting to start a "Hows Avcon doing" thread and see how many ex pilots write in for them.

Hows Mapjet getting on?

Yep, saw them earlier at the Dubai 24-hour racing. Sure that'll get them lots of exposure amongst the 100 people who were watching!

Some aircraft is not enough but at least Aston Martin do well out of any profit they may have made. Will they use the 200+k race tour bus for ebace this year.

avconjet might be one of the cheaper operator but your statement about their maintenance/saftey procedures is totally wrong. No one has ever done anything like that in avcon before. MXX dept. is qualified and all Repairs are done by Jet Aviation without compromises. Its true everybody in the company works overtime for little pay but the quality remains still within limits and not to many people have left company last year (also due to crisis of course)

Cuba99 I actually saw photographs taken by the pilot himself. The tire was completely worn to the point of white patches all over. And then there were the after pictures where the white sections were covered with Black marker pen. Then there is the story of Eastern European pilots buying their licences that circulated. From what I remember there was a link to Vilnius.

I gather the original bunch of guys that started AVCON were ex Jet alliance so it does not surprise me that people pop up to say things like the difference is "night and day". Having said that the original bunch all left and I believe the word "CON" in the title was to blame.

Yeah I saw Jet alliance racing on Motor TV recently. Not sure its the image a company should portray during a recession. Next up is the Redbull air race team.

Dear Uberwang,

The Pilot you are referring to was ex-JA, left for BEX, left for Avcon, left for BEX, left for Avcon, left for BEX. He is still at BEX, if BEX still exists. This up and down is within 2 and half years. I think it is needless to say anything more ...

I just think that it is a very difficult situation that JA is facing right now. I wish them all the best...

What does any of that have to do with safety? I dont know where he works or how many times he moved, but I know its not okay to have dangerously worn tires like what I saw. I dont know exactly how Ja are doing, but they appear in better shape than most say on here.

Airduck bit easy and nice and anonymous for you placing a post without any reasons. There will always be good and bad things in every company and sure there may be better operators out there but then again also worse. The saying remains to this day true that the grass is always greener on the other side.
Personally I can say the opposite, I am very happy at JAG they treat me fairly, provide me with a safe airplane and well trained crew and I get my wages as per contract I agreed on, on time every time. I have been around enough to see/experience the other options out there. Lets be professional about things Fine if you don't recommend them go ahead I stand nothing to gain or loose from it but please if your going to post something think and at least state your reasons instead of just shouting out malicious statements out of the blue and adding to old posts.

well mr. robert fisch, it seems that you are a friend of one of those .... bosses thats why you been happy with the company and defend them, thats why they treated you correct, but thats the only chance to be treated good at JA. Of course there are better and worster companies, but i never heard as many bad things as from JA. The only good thing is, that you get the salary on time. Bad things are, the crew roster is always streched, duty time limitation, nobody is responsible for anything if you need help and so many other things, i would have to write a book about it cause its too much to write down here. I know it hurts to see the own company going bad, loosing soooo many airplanes, but here they should start to think and make things correct and no more airplane would leave.
