eAPIS
eAPIS became mandatory for all private aircraft into or out of the US effective yesterday - I'm sure that we're all compliant but this just as a reminder as the retribution is specific for non-compliance - a $5,000 fine levied on the PIC for first offence, $ 10,000 for subsequent events.
If you're not familiar with the acronym Google & there's plenty of gen out there.

eAPIS
Hi,
I have registered for the eAPIS system, it all works but when I try to download/upload the pax manifest section my computer cant read it, I think its an XML(?) document.
Is there anyway I can get XML on my computer, if i can where would I get that from?(uk)
Hope someone can help this computer retard.

.. and if you do try to use it at the last minute and get a glitch on your password (you think) try not to request another one as it will be forwarded to you in an email within the next 48 hrs ! What you preferably need is an eAPIS System Administrator to bail you out. The local CBP office might know the number of a friendly one. Or might not.
You really need to check that your registration to the eAPIS system is working a couple of days before it is needed for real. Should save some of that familiar last minute panic feeling.

FltPlan.com has an excellent E-Apis tool. Allows you to build both a crew and pax database so data does not need to be re-entered on every flight except for address in U.S. Also allows you to build and save a submission, as well as make changes to already inputted submissions without starting all over.

Hi Hawker,
I have not used it for real yet but by doing the on line training then having a look at the actual system it seems that I may enter up to 50 pax on the notification of arrival/departure section.
Did you find this not to be the case?
I have had no luck with the XML doc, I have been trying it at different FBOs and cant get it to download no matter what computer I use.
Universal aviation will do it for me for a fee should I not be able to get it to work.
As you know I cant do a test plan as thats against the rules so I guess it will be just one more thing to do before I actually get to go flying, no doubt sending my blood pressure up as departure time draws near and I cant get it to work!

Have sorted out eAPIS. The upload/download of the manifeston the right box is a red herring you do not need it.
Start on the left box of page 1 and it will lead you through the procedure. My first go at it took 90 minutes with 2 crew and 4 pax. Note if you are a private flight the co-pilot has to be classed as a passenger. The time taken is the input of data. Once in should be quite quick and simple. My next attempt on Wednesday from Mexico to LA with same pasx and crew sp should be a breeze! will report back!

If I'm not mistaken, you have to classify the captain as PILOT and the other one(s) as CREW. Definitely not as passenger! The CBP officer upon arrival might not like that
Enjoy,
