Electronic Flight Bags, EFB`s

Has anybody got any bright ideas on which EFB is best for use in a Kingair?
Probably looking to use it as a class 2, with it`s main function being for Jeppview approach plates.
Thanks

We have two fujitsus. A huge issue for us is the visibility/brightness of the screens. It is really hard to see them in normal daylight, then you add the harsh light at 40,000 or so, and its almost impossible.

Motion Computing LS800 with View Anywhere screen is the go - unfortunately they have stopped making them so they are very hard to find.

We are just about to start using a "Gigabyte"...never heard of it before but it comes with all the whistles and bells on it, touch screen and rotatable, wifi etc, etc....but once again the screen is almost unusable in daylight. A basic requirement I would have thought but it seems to elude so many manufacturers!
I'm going to try and stick an enhanced glossy screen protector on it and see if it helps at all.
Sorry but it's more a story of what doesn't work than what does it seems.

We bought 4 Paceblades for our 2 aircraft.
Bluetooth, Wifi, Ethernet, touchscreen, the works.
GPS mouse(s) added on give position directly on Jeppesen charts and en-route in Jepp FliteDeck
Screens are good in bright sunlight.
Very very Happy with the product and only 1300 Euro before taxes.

Just to defend the manufacturers we should note that all the models so far mentioned are not designed to be used in direct sunlight/cockpit environments, or in fact are aviation specific.

This is also the reason why these products cannot be used as class 2 EFB's.

That aside, I have used the LS800 and it is a good product, but again suffers with the sunlight issue.

If you want a true glare-free EFB you need to pay for it - class 2 and above (although more than happy to be told otherwise though!)

There are a number of platforms one can use; I used an IBM X-41 for a while in a GV with a screen which worked well, it also doubled up as my trip computer, did not use flight deck but was useful, ALWAYS had the paper back up.

I did research this subject a little; the class system is for cockpit intergration;

Class 1. is having a laptop (Tablet) but one has to have paper back up.
Class 2. is intergrated with the data unit mounted in the avionics rack and the screen attached in the cockpit, class 2 will allow you to ditch the paper and be classed "paper less cockpit". ( Op spec approval required) This will have to be certified so not so many options available.
Class 3 is fully intergrated like planeview in the G550.

I have chosen to go class 3 in a GV which is a Honeywell retro fit so Jeppesen will be displayed on the 6 new LCD Du's.
