Landmark give a great service, and are certainly prompt at greeting you when you land. They have their own fuel too, as already pointed out, but there is a price premium. The problem with Nice though is that all catering comes from the same rip off con merchants...you get hit twice, once for the extortionate price for the food, then again for "delivering" it to the plane.

Well, interestingly enough I have just had the price through for parking and am somewhat gobsmacked to say the least. I've been quoted a 'special deal' of 1,000 Euro's for 5 days parking and handling, wait for it, over Grand Prix weekend!?!

Also, they tell me that as of 1st April they have two new fuel bowsers solely for GA use so waiting for fuel should no longer be such of a problem...

All sounds a bit too good to be true.

Not going in till Grand Prix weekend so will report back after that.

Rgds,

The catering at Nice is a total rip off and crap to boot!

A recent trip cost us around 400 Euros for the worst platter of sandwiches, pastries(what pastries??) and fruit I have EVER seen! Bread was totally dry. Not fit to look at let alone eat! Shameful!!

Crosswind

Who are you ordering from?
If asked I would have said that the catering in Nice now rivals some of the best.
However, if you are ordering white bread sandwiches, maybe I can understand.
The French have never been able to make white sandwich bread..... but the rest of the food from Private is usually fantastic!
(Expensive Maybe)

Cheers

We used Landmark!!

Used Landmark as threatened, and found them absolutely super.
Quick transfer of pax upon our arrival, followed by crew 10 mins later (we don't hang about - hostie had already washed up, and we "tanker" our fuel).
Good no nonsense paperwork upon arrival today, and FREE hot water. Ice was 3 Euros a Kilo, with no hidden "delivery charges".
The Brunette was well up to spec, and most polite and helpfull.
Thanks to Clive for the advice on paying landing/parking fees at the little office-saved us 300Euros on the "estimated in advance" costs supplied by Landmark.
All in all, quite the most hassle free service I have had from Nice in many a year, BUT, it was very quiet generally. It remains to be seen how it will go once the "silly season" arrives in a couple of weeks....................

As for catering/sandwiches... I found you can buy pretty good stuff at shops downtown, so if I stay there, I buy there. No option for a turnaround, but I bring in my catering then.
We once had catering from a very expensive company, paid something like 1200 € for a extensive menue for four pax.
Thought I better change my profession, as making money in that business seems to be very easy. That guy had his van loaded and dropped off at 4 other jets whilst we waited. He collected something like 200€ from each for delivery. 1000€ made in ten minutes...Ice cubes came at 15 €/bag.
Hostie received a tea and biscuits ceremoney without tea and biscuits from the boss. The pax liked the stuff...

Catering Nice
Yes good catering in town from the shops at a fraction of the cost. But this is the case virtually anywhere. This is the reason why all our charters carry a hostie, they save a fortune in catering costs. Whenever a client asks for "no hostie" we have to put a surcharge on the price to cover the catering!

Errr, let's not. We at the Towers get enough hassle from (allegedly) aggrieved people and their lawyers without the stigma of voyeurism or perving.

ref bringing own catering, the security ad airport seems to try to prohibit this (safety etc..) and we had a few arguments regarding this trying to get it through.

So beware trying this as you may have to leave it behind.

Aviapartner worked well last week - what seemed to work is repetitive phone calls & emails to verify that they understand what you need/ want & then getting someone (with a name) to be the "responsible party" for your movement.

Sounds like it's going to busy as hell this weekend - anyone there for a beer on Saturday night? I was thinking old town around 2100.
