JAA Checkride on FAA aircraft

Friends,

Am about to undertake a JAA/FAA approved course on a Citation- in order to complete the JAA requirements (base check)- may I use a FAA registered aircraft with a JAA approved examiner?

Regards.

If I'm not mistaken, you may - under one of the following conditions:
  • the examiner is authorized to fly the aircraft as PIC or
  • you can fly it alone (= single pilot certification), so it does not make a difference what qualifications the examiner has.
Best thing is to ask you local authority and get the qualified reply in writing (by e-mail).

Under all circumstances though make sure that the insurance has no objections! Could be very important if you blow a tire on landing, for instance...
