Where can I rent a Citation for circuits?

Hi

I am just about to finish my sim training for my Citation Bravo Type Rating and was informed that the sim will not be enough for my Type Rating to be issued. I need to do 6 take-offs and landings in a real Citation.

The company I fly for is based in Angola and none of the pilots there are JAA approved as instructors.

Now does anyone know where I can rent a Bravo (or maybe any 500 series Citation will do, not sure yet) and an Instructor so that I can do the 6 circuits?

Thanks in advance!
Eric

One idea is to contact the C550 TREs.
Check on the CAA web pages, they usually maintain a list of their TREs.

I don't know if one Bravo is still available at Cambridge, UK, with TRE.

Not Bravos, I'm afraid, they're 2 x 550s and a 501. I can dig out a wet rate, incl TRE if you'd like?

And we're at Liverpool, not Manch...

Also, are you flying on a JAA or Portuguese national licence? I suspect there will be issues surrounding a UK TRE signing off on another authority's licence.

CAA Approved non-JAA TRE to do our circuits based upon CV, experience etc.
Was a written approval procedure and a small fee.

Maybe they can do the same with your Angolan pilots.

Good Luck

You could just apply for a JAA CPL from the UK also you could do the circuits in a 550 II and the Tre could sign that off as differences training in case you ever had to rent/lease/fly one.

Oh and a TRI can do the circuits for you as well as of course a TRE

Sepp,

A proforma invoice would be great (6 landings, wet, with TRE or TRI) so I can send to my chief pilot in Angola.

Signing off not an issue as I have UK JAA licence.

My email address is [email protected]

Anyone else reading this is also welcome to email me a proforma invoice.

Thanks to everyone for the help and info!
Eric

Eric,

I'll get our Ops Manager to email you phone numbers etc., and you can then discuss it directly with her, OK?

Cheers,

Sepp
