The new paint scheme actually barely beat out the other choice which was a "hot pink" colour with giant red "NJE" letters on the tail. That would have been a total disaster. So, feel good about the new paint scheme in comparison.
Hmmm. That sounds strange: Milan-Seychellles is around 4000NM. Hard to believe a 7X can't do that. Even a 900EX could. Shouldn't take more than 9 hours max even with quite a bit of headwind. So what was the deal here? Could a full pax load reduce the range by that much? Wouldn't have thought so...

Are most current 7X pilots coming from the Falcon 2000EX fleet? Are all pilots Captains or have they assigned a few dedicated FOs?
When are we going to start seeing them fly transcon from LCY? I think LCY access should be a real selling point vs. Gulfstream and Global shares.

We "lost" around 5 guys from the classic to the 7x (high senority), so not all come from the EASy. 1 or 2 from the 800 also.
Regarding LCY, I've heard from more then one person that they want to close LCY after the olympics?

Regarding LCY that wouldn't surprise me. London is doing everything it can to become less of a business capital in the world with less and less travel access. Meanwhile Paris is far more accessible for the business traveller. Pretty soon Luton and Manston will be the only access points as all other airports are marginalized or shut down...
Regarding the 7X, I am surprised that none of the Gulfstream pilots jumped at the chance to fly it. I guess the super-senior Gulfstream pilots don't mind the 12 hour flights.
Any word on whether the new paint scheme will ever be changed back to the original or changed again? I have heard from a NJE pilot that a few passengers have actually refused to fly on aircraft with the new paint scheme. Sounds like NJE didn't test the paint scheme in focus groups with existing/potential passengers before making the decision...

Sorry Iver but just have a think about what you've just said, pax refusing to fly because of the paintjob? I was hanging around Paris the other day with lots of crews on standby and we talked about everything including the new paint scheme and passengers refusing to fly was never mentioned.

LRP have a learning curve on 7x planning !! they need to anderstand rerouting and optimise level etc..and may be buy the Dassault planning sofware instead of jeppsen data plan which is too basic for this kind of airplane; yes they planned .85 but we were good to do .87 so we did !they have been spoilled by the G5 which is a typical American technology, meaning to solve problems make a big plane to create room to load lots of fuel and 2 bigs engines to make it airbone. the G its a good plane but its an airtanker compared to a 7x, about 35% bigger airframe for a cabin volume of less than 10 % bigger should said longer, 8 % more range with 37 % more fuel than the 7x !
Dassault didn t want to build a new 550 or XLS, they built a more efficient more sofisticated and more capable airplane base on a 90 % large cabin customers max range survey which they found was 5300 nm ! so they build this airplane accordingly, otherwize they could have build a G650 kind of airplane.
180mn.. maybe ! I am sure the FAA will give it without problem, this will be fine untill the first ditching, same with polar route or mountainous aerea take off, better do it with 3 than 2 engines !! We have a G5 owner on board last flight, they loved few things in this flight : having 3 engines over the water, the silence on board, the galley at the front and the double bed at the back nothing spectacular...
they said they will ask for the 7x even to go to NY ! So some will always said the G is better etc etc ..there are not completly wrong but the 7x is a different airplane by philosophy and technology.

It was not a dig at you Iver, it was only my personal opinion on the basis that I would have thought a story like that would have done the rounds fairly quickly, unless it only happened yesterday?

SC,
I agree - it sounds too crazy to be true. However, we all know that the super-wealthy can be eccentric and fickle. Evidently, schedulers had to find other aircraft in these instances (probably other Falcons in the old paint scheme if it actually happened). You can't please everyone. Who knows? I thought it was weird and unlikely when I heard it.

I found a cool video about flying the 7X for anyone interested. I am thinking the NJE pilots on the 7X are probably enjoying the airplane:

No you have it all wrong mate.
It is so "EASy" it requires a separate type rating/coversion course, to explain how EASy it really is! Simple really.

You dont work for Dassault by any chance?
