Harrods Luton new FBO facility

Harrods are moving to their new FBO facility on January 14th. More information on the harrodsaviation website. While Harrods have been spending the cash Signature seem to be on a spending freeze with plans for their new terminal being put on hold. I wonder how the new Harrods facilities will impact on Signature?

Not strictly true. Luton have recently refurbished their "front of house" facilities at Luton. Not huge I know but if the standard of facilities was the only reason one used a handling agent, why would Harrods have been used much at all over the past few years?

Cheers,

Chips

(P.S. Would dearly love for the crew facilities to be upgraded at Sig LTN )

Thumbs up Hi

I go for facilities/customer care every time. Greer EDI is probably the best I have encountered to date.................

I should have been clearer. I was referring to crew facilities (and alluding to the fact that Harrods/Metro have been operating out of a porta-cabin for quite some time). I agree with you. Pax facilities are hugely important. The rest? I'm not too fussed whether or not I get the latest coffee machine but I do like some capable, efficient service. That produces a better service for the pax.

I've not used Greer but maybe next time in EDI.

Cheers,

Chips

Red face Better service

Well, better they would keep the old building but improve service.
As soon as the door is open, the trouble starts.

Cheers

The new location will also increase taxying times, although probably not by much unless 08 is in use & due to inbound traffic taxying down Delta to park, aircraft taxying from Harrods taxy through the Main apron & have to wait for an aircraft to push back/taxy away off the main apron.

Van - I agree service needs to improve and I do believe that they are working on it behind the scenes - problem is they are too congested (guess it can't be that bad then) and service agents too stretched for amount of traffic.
