Having CPH base - I confirm that there is trouble ahead. They do not care if you already paid tax in Portugal and UK - you claim them back !!! They want full tax in Denmark, when on Portugese contract.

CL300:
Just keep it simple. I know this for a fact. Theres no arguing about it; Norway and Sweden. IF you work for international company and tax your income to another country that Norway and Sweden has a tax agreement with there is NO DOUBLE TAXES !!! I dont know how the status is in Denmark. And yes, this information is konfirmed to me from pilots that lives in these countrys and thats uses a tax agent to do their taxes. In addition to be on the safe side, I contacted both the Norwegian and Swedish tax athorities and they send me a list of countrys that has signed the double tax agreement.
So CL300, why dont you contact the respective tax athority in these countrys and get the answer from them, since you obviously cant understand what Im writing here.

What we said above came from a law firm speciale in fiscal law and tax adviser within EU, we didn t make it up for the fun of it . The way Netjets set up the 25 pourcent in Portugal is an erroraccording to them. The question is did they make that error purposely or they have been advise wrongly? One interesting fact about this when we ask the question is : Why the Brits with the same contract than us don t have to pay tax in portugal....the Headquatter is the same than us in Portugal right ! they just answer that they don t want to restructure one more time the Brits which mean they decided to make us pay in Portugal like they decided to make the Brits pay in UK...how curious is that....That is not a bilateral agreement but a Deal to make the Portuguese authority happy as the AOC, office, etc is in Portugal since 10 years, a Portuguese contract will cost Netjets 45 % more benefits on top of your salary with an English contract only 12 %.... Netjets choose what is more avantageous to them even so most of the crew we will be badly hurt by that decision...they know about it as they gave us 2000 euros to fix it up ourself ...Do you know one Company of that magnitude who hired 800 pilots and say regarding your tax take the money and sorted out yourself and when you tell them this contract is illegal according to our tax adviser they say no its legal....what do you do then ?

I love you and I must be stupid like the other ones and all the layer firms all together, and obviously YOU are the smartest of all...I'm working in double tax agreement scheme for the last 25 years, It worked out fine until THIS deal...
And my friend, we have letters and answers and evidences from tax authorities in at least 4 countries that says that the double tax agreement is not applicable in this case, that includes France, Germany, Spain and Italy; BUT since you are better than the goverments in place; I do strongly suggest that you should go work in their offices to teach them the LAW and RULES of IRS..Until then, be prepared for an nasty wake-up call..

If you have a bit of ice on the wing and you have a doubt about deicing...then the rule of thumb is...there is no doubt!
For this reason (amongst some numerous of others) I left a company I really liked working for.
Ask yourself: Am I going to take the chance to get tax checked, or double or trebled checked? Knowing that next year most of you will be double taxed anyway since you pay tax (year n) on your income (year n-1) and portugal will tax at source.
Payslip of a french captain next year will be less than 5000euros and still with no pension!
Guys, this is definitely the best deal in Europe, isn't it?

CL300, again:
Im talkin about Sweden and Norway. Not France, Germany, Denmark or any other country. Read what Im writing and then response.
You just cant deny the truth, no matter how little you like it.

"And yes, this information is konfirmed to me from pilots that lives in these countrys and thats uses a tax agent to do their taxes"
Mhhh, I do know for Germany at least,(from bad experience) that the TAXPAYER carries the ultimate responsibility for his tax, no matter who made the statement. Is that different in norway / sweden? Genuine question, no pun intended.
FYI there is the case of a bunch of German pilots using the same agent that did give them wrong advice / statements and they are being SUED for that.
My taxagent says that to me all the time: you pay for my advice, but if I´m wrong, its your problem !

hey dude:
Sorry to hear that. I base my statement on the fact that I know pilots in Norway and Sweden that taxes to a foregin country and they have no additional taxes in NO/SV. Also, since Im really looking hard at moving to one of these countrys Ive done my reserach and have talked with the tax authorities in each country and they confirm the rules that apply. But again, Im only talking of Norway and Sweden, not the rest of EU.
cheers

Correct. Norway and Switzerland is not in EU. Sweden is. The bilateral tax agreement has nothing to do with EU membership. Norway has several treaty agreements with EU and must adjust to EU parlament laws as they appear...

I m sur eyou told your tax department that you work for a Portuguese ccompany and pay tax in Portugal ..so that fine or you told them that you work for an English company and pay tax in portugal ? that more complex and tricky but as long as they accept that unique trilateral agreement shhhh !take it and hope that they will not discover the trick because that will be painfull.
Having in mind that this, as nothing to do of beeing or not part of the EU its an ICAO based agreement and Sweden is not Nigeria they probably sign it
