Sorry Treaders - can't help you with the geography - never been there.

Found a pic on Googlemaps, yup, the south eastern end is somewhat raised above the airfield level - not that any of it is particularly flat!

After so long, is there Open House, or are the 24-hour rules different upon these pages?

I send Mel a PM. Please give it another 24 hrs.

If multiple posters agree that Mel is probably not going to post a challenge, we can agree on open house. (You and I is already multiple).

The 24 hour rule doesn't apply to OH - it's to stop rapid posting that leaves people in different time zones left out of the flow IIRC.

has anyone PM'd him?

I'll do it

meleagertoo 20th August 2024 09:28

Thanks guys, I'll get onto it.

Relatively small aircraft but with a rather snazzy triple bladed prop so optimised for performance (or just to look good)

I'd guess American?

meleagertoo 20th August 2024 17:55

Uhuh.

Asturias56 21st August 2024 08:41

French?

meleagertoo 21st August 2024 19:49

Stylish enough to be so, but no.

Look to lesser known aviation-pruducers.
Numbers built not obvious but clearly a respectable quantity, given its various roles.

Asturias56 22nd August 2024 07:07

European then?

the roof of the cockpit looks quite.. different - but its not an angle you often see

meleagertoo 22nd August 2024 10:50

Nor european either.

this is tough..................... E of Suez?

meleagertoo 24th August 2024 19:20

Look, it isn't American or European so ot pretty much has to be E of Suez. At least, the Turks and Gyppos never made a babe like this.
So where is it from?
More pics forthcoming if requrired.

ea200 24th August 2024 20:05

KC-100 Naraon maybe

BEagle 24th August 2024 23:16

Yes, KC-100 Naraon from South Korea!

"Look, it isn't American or European so ot pretty much has to be E of Suez."

Could have been Mexican, Argentinean, Brazilian or S African - we've had aircraft from all those places in the last couple of years. Besides I like t o start big and close in steadily rather than try one country after another
