Lightning Mate 24th June 2010 15:13

Good grief TC.

You're going to have to tell us how you found that one!

We've been running around all day.

Lightning Mate 24th June 2010 15:30

WK, you just went off-line !

Walter-Karl 24th June 2010 15:56

Hi SincoTC. Perfect sherlockholmingandwatsoning. It is indeed the André Starck AS-90 New Look.
Please send PM with email so I can send photo/text

As suggested by SincoTC, Open House please

Lightning Mate 24th June 2010 16:09

Just where did you find that great challenge WK?

I'm not telling you where I found this one though.

I think we would all like to see that.

skytrain10 24th June 2010 16:42

Nice challenge WK....and its reminded me where I've seen it, or at least a picture of it. Saw another Starck model at a flying event many years back in the UK, and the pilot (maybe Andre Starck himself?) had a homemade brochure with pictures/diagrams of all the various Starck models built....if only I had a copy!

Now yours LM...a motorglider...Polish maybe?

Walter-Karl 24th June 2010 16:45

Dave, did you find yours, at the local gliding club?
My best guess is the Motorraab and/or a homebuilt conversion of a Raab glider from Germany

Lightning Mate 24th June 2010 16:59

Good evening skytrain and WK.

Motorraab and/or a homebuilt conversion of a Raab glider from Germany
Not that one, but it is German, not Polish.

spook 24th June 2010 17:22

Scheibe SF-24B Motorspatz

Actually forget that the u/c is all wrong!

Lightning Mate 24th June 2010 17:39

OK spook - I'll forget it....

Lightning Mate 24th June 2010 18:15

WK,

Dave, did you find yours, at the local gliding club?

So even hard core fighter jocks have to eat? My illusion is shattered mate! I thought you survived on lashings of JP-4 and munching on MIGs!

Lightning Mate 25th June 2010 07:13

Nah mate.

Didn't care for raw JP4. Glenavtur was much better. Russian aluminium wasn't as nice as EE aluminium either.

Ridge Runner 25th June 2010 07:42

You ate your own Lightning?

Lightning Mate 25th June 2010 09:36

Eat, drink, breathe, sleep, dream Lightning.

Now, how ya doing with the challenge?

Methinks cluetime soon, but nobody else is on thread at the moment.

Ridge Runner 25th June 2010 09:40

I'll be honest that although my light is on I have been deep in work stuff! Sorry. I did look up German motor-gliders yesterday without success.... clearly!

Lightning Mate 25th June 2010 10:42

OK RR.

This was not a motor glider, but a two-seat training sailplane.

One or two were converted to motor gliders.

skytrain10 25th June 2010 13:31

In view of your last clue, would this be a powered version of the Schleicher Ka-4 Rhonlerche II, aka the Rupert Rhonlerche II?

Lightning Mate 25th June 2010 13:35

Bullseye skytrain.

I was just about to post the designers' name, Rudolf Kaiser.

Please take the thread. :D

SincoTC 25th June 2010 13:43

Good work skytrain,

I'd just found this, but when I logged in you'd got there first :ugh:
