Howard Air Base Panama ?

OUAQUKGF is getting closer.
as for I42 "Let me correct that for you: Quote:… but we're now on theleftside of the Atlantic" I have to point out it depends where you are standing - if you're at Lands End then it's on the right side of the Atlantic and if you're in Port Stanley................ it isn't :} Another picture https://cimg9.ibsrv.net/gimg/pprune....2ea9795965.jpg |
Soto Cano Honduras ?

For the English being known for their correct language,
I think we must agree that the right side of the Atlantic Ocean remains the right side. The left (west) side is in this challenge probably the correct side. (same as they consider left hand driving to be correct but then the right hand steering is on the right side) |
FAB Fortaleza,Brazil...O H if correct...
|
|
Well I think Sycamore is very close. In Brazil (Just managed to find image of Brazilian Air Force Police Helmet) so I'll go for Belem...?
|
scrap that I have positive photos on Recife USN NAF |
24 hour rule applies - ESPECIALLY to me................... :(

"A56,it is 5 days since you put the picture up.......!"
true but I've just come off a ban of over a month for answering a correct challenge after 8 hours on Christmas Day - and I thought I understood the rules. The Mods always have the final say. So you won't get anything out of me until this evening I'm afraid. |

true but I've just come off a ban of over a month for answering a correct challenge after 8 hours on Christmas Day - and I thought I understood the rules. The Mods always have the final say. So you won't get anything out of me until this evening I'm afraid. As I am back on my favorite foreign project,I am hitting the sack early. So no new challenge from me tonight if I would be correct. But without a challenge you already have a clue to ponder over! |
Sorry folks about the delay
Bear is correct with Recife - it was a major US base from 1941 then a main base for the Brazilian AF - these days it's a big civil airport with occasional military aircraft visiting and a training school for military police, para-militaries etc I think. The military area is bottom left on the latest GE pic https://cimg0.ibsrv.net/gimg/pprune....81ab801704.jpg https://cimg1.ibsrv.net/gimg/pprune....1e233ed6f6.jpg https://cimg3.ibsrv.net/gimg/pprune....7793c08774.jpg |

Interesting. It looks like an early Farman biplane, but I haven't been able to identify it. The building looks French to me.
|
well there's a hill in the background so not the Netherlands ;) Could be Belgium
|
Think it is possibly Roger Sommer, whose son later died in the French G Prix.
|
The plane is indeed a Sommer but not flown by Roger Sommer.
Not Belgium, nor France. In the Netherlands we have some hills to match the ones shown hear but albeit at a lower ASL. So also not the Netherlands. https://cimg0.ibsrv.net/gimg/pprune....a1c5b02b1.jpeg |
A Voisin Biplane of some description ?
|
Are we possibly at Rosehill, New South Wales 1910?
