My guess is that far from "philistines" a logical decision was made by scientists and engineers to pick the most suitable airframe for future development with minds unclouded by silly, inappropriate sentimentality. To have done otherwise, risking best chances of success would indeed have been the decision of philistines and not consumate Professionals trying to advance the science.

The aircraft had 2 extra dummy engines fitted for the film giving a total of 6 but in the set of cockpit, the set builder only installed 4 thrust levers on the quadrant, |
