Hi Martin...yes Mexican sort of gave it away! It is indeed the IPN Tonatiuh:ok:. Designed to meet a requirement for a training/observation aircraft for the Mexican Navy, it first flew in 1982. Just 8 built.

Looks like a Martin XP6M-1 Seamaster ?

Karlark 2nd Dec 2011 17:00

Hello Evansb, yes, that's it :ok:.

I figured it needed to get on this list, as well as the Challenge list. :)

Your control.

evansb 2nd Dec 2011 17:10

Thanks Karlark. I initially thought your silhouette was the Myasishchev M-4/3M. Here is the next challenge:

Hi Ken. First thought was Mister Mulligan or some sort of Howard. But before I go further, is it American/USA? :)

skytrain10 3rd Dec 2011 20:25

Morning Graeme. Nice to see someone around...its been dead today:(

Its a European design. 1940's.

Noyade 3rd Dec 2011 20:45

Well I wouldn't have thought European. There you go.

Stab. Romanian?

its been dead today:(
Sign of the times mate. :(

Noyade 3rd Dec 2011 20:50

1940's.
Do you mean during WW2? It appears to be a civilian light aircraft and I thought Europe was either being destroyed or making only military aircraft?

Or post War?

skytrain10 3rd Dec 2011 20:57

Or post War?
Yep, post WWII. Civilian aircraft, just the one built, and still in existance today.

Noyade 3rd Dec 2011 21:09

I have absolutely no idea Ken, and your Mexican has shattered my confidence and sanity. Kept looking at it and it was screaming at me, "Auster AOP-9!" and I would scream back, "stop it, Ken said your not!"

Your latest now screams, "Howard!"

Cut back on the coffee?!

skytrain10 3rd Dec 2011 21:20

and your Mexican has shattered my confidence and sanity
All part of my masterplan:):) Soon I'll have you believing a Comet is a Boeing 707, and there'll be nothing you can do about it!!!

Your latest now screams, "Howard!"
The plan is already working!!! However, the aircraft is loosely connected to a not dissimilar looking American aircraft, that was used by the owner of the challenge aircraft pre WWII:)

Noyade 3rd Dec 2011 21:33

Soon I'll have you believing a Comet is a Boeing 707
Stop farking with my mind! :(

Well, I'm going to log off and think about it. Beautiful looking day here so I don't know much thinking I'll get done. Cheers mate, sleep well. :ok:
