Evening Ken...:)

unless it inadvertently lands on you!
How big is it?
What's its purpose?
Remotely controlled UAV?

Is it happy?

All very good questions....

Size...small, I presume around 13ft in diameter (I'll try to confirm this!)
Purpose...test vehicle
Manned

Is it happy?
Probably not, it was replaced by bigger and presumably better models. Looks like it should have been in 2001:)

Edit, ignore the size....my theory blown apart....more like 40 ft in diameter!

Noyade 14th Nov 2011 19:28

What I thought would be a straightforward challenge appears not to be.
I don't think anything is straightforward in life mate....:(

Thirteen feet in diameter and it carries a man?! Inside? What's the propulsion system?

It is a sphere I think you said? That's not just the front view of something Zeppelin shaped?

And it's opaque?

Goggled "munufacturer" and "manufturer" spherical airships but...............................................:E:E

Can I have some mate?

Noyade 14th Nov 2011 19:37

Evening David!

Trevor has a spoilt dog. I have spoilt children and I now drive their lazy asses to school. Light will be on...but I am not here. Story of my life. Don't wait up...

skytrain10 14th Nov 2011 19:37

Graeme, see my edit.....

Definitely a sphere. 2 props, no details on make.

The designer has produced several different spherical airships, as well as other shapes, including one particular large airship last year.

Karlark 14th Nov 2011 19:46

Still a little early for me to get into the nog.

The SPAS-4 is 13.1 meters in diameter. 21st Century Airships?

skytrain10 14th Nov 2011 19:50

And it's opaque?
Sorry Graeme, missed that....not opaque, but it has windows:

Noyade 14th Nov 2011 19:51

Loading up the car with lazy asses....

...and then I thought of this...?

Lightning Mate 14th Nov 2011 19:51

....or even the SPAS 13.....

Lightning Mate 14th Nov 2011 19:53

Have a good day Graeme. :ok::\

skytrain10 14th Nov 2011 19:53

21st Century Airships?
That'll do for me Karl:ok:. Designed by Hokan Colting who claims to have produced what was, at the time, the worlds largest airship last year.

Karlark has control.

Edit, sorry Graeme and David, but Karl was there first with the manufacturer (which was all I wanted). As for the model number I am not entirely clear whether it was the -4 or -13. If it was the -13 it was clearly modified, so I am assuming it was the SPAS-4.

Karlark 14th Nov 2011 19:59

Thanks Ken.

I feel like I need to apologize for posting this one :)

skytrain10 14th Nov 2011 20:16

A Santos-Dumont design?

Karlark 14th Nov 2011 20:19

:ok: No. 9 balloon. Have to run... Skytrain has control.

skytrain10 14th Nov 2011 20:20

Cheers Karl....going to have to prep one so if anyone else has anything ready feel free to post:ok:

Noyade 14th Nov 2011 21:01

Back.

going to have to prep one
At your leisure mate. I'll see what you've created later. Goodnight. :)

Noyade 14th Nov 2011 21:33

You just don't quit Ken! A silhouetting machine. :)

Must be late over there?

Quick stab before you collapse....Ruschmeyer R90?

skytrain10 14th Nov 2011 22:05

Ruschmeyer R90?
