Seattle I think??????

Davidsoffice 12th Aug 2009 08:57

Looks more scandinavian to me...isn't that a SAS MD80 and a couple of F50s on the terminal? Not big enough for Arlanda or Oslo so try Bergen.....

Ridge Runner 12th Aug 2009 11:41

I'm sticking with SEA

skytrain10 12th Aug 2009 11:43

I'm going the Scandinavian route...how about Bergen?

Davidsoffice 12th Aug 2009 11:53

Def not Seattle, too small and too close to the water. Also from that angle you should have hangar(s) on the right of the runway for the Vulcan Inc biz jet fleet. Sticking with Bergen.

skytrain10 12th Aug 2009 11:56

Davidsoffice...sorry didn't read your earlier post properly....but you're right, pretty sure its Bergen.

Ridge Runner 12th Aug 2009 12:55

Well I'm blowed..... you look to be right and me.... wrong! Not good for an ex-Boeing employee!!! RR

Russell Gulch 12th Aug 2009 17:53

Davidsoffice, Bergen it is.

Sorry for the delay, been out all day.

Over to you.

Edited much later: I took the photo on left base for the southerly runway, and vacated at the first intersection you can see.
I felt a short circuit would do after taking two days to get there!

Davidsoffice 12th Aug 2009 18:34

Thanks.
Nothing to post until I've scanned more slides...

Open House!

It's long past your UK bedtimes so here is a pretty easy one to wake up to, I should be online around about noon BST, OBP

Ridge Runner 13th Aug 2009 07:34

Good morning OBP. Clearly its a Tiger Club event, with 'DC and, I guess, 'EF (the SV4). The obvious from that era would be Redhill but it doesn't lokk right, or my memory is poor. Anyhow I'll kick off with Redhill. RR

Old Bald Pilot 13th Aug 2009 11:32

Right event but not wrong location. Those power lines get in the picture again.

Davidsoffice 13th Aug 2009 13:07

Shot in the dark, but local to Redhill....Kenley?

Old Bald Pilot 13th Aug 2009 16:07

Sorry not Kenley.

Ridge Runner 13th Aug 2009 16:24

Tiger Club

Sorry OBP, I've been out. I don't understand - "right event", thus Tiger Club, "but not wrong location", thus it is Redhill?? Am I missing something? RR

Old Bald Pilot 13th Aug 2009 16:43

RR
Sorry if I confused you. This was a Tiger Club act within an airshow held at an airfield other than Redhill. I don't remember much about it, but it was amongst my mid 70s photos so I must have been there.
Now are you even more confused?
OBP

BSD 13th Aug 2009 20:40

Elstree.

Open house if right.

BSD.

Old Bald Pilot 13th Aug 2009 21:03

Elstree is correct, looking North.

Phileas Fogg 13th Aug 2009 22:22

If I'm not mistaken that is a hard runway in the pic, something that Redhill is absent of!

Ridge Runner 14th Aug 2009 12:16

Ooops.. it doesn't show! RR
