Actually, I would have said Mk 1....no step between the prop spinner and cowling, as happened with the later Rotols...but then again, I could be wrong [it has been known]

RETDPI 11th Nov 2008 17:56

Yeah,
I would have put Mk.IV well down on the list...........

GOLF_BRAVO_ZULU 11th Nov 2008 19:01

Well, now you mention it, that Hurricane does have an early tail wheel, a spinner for a DH-Hamilton airscrew and no Vokes intake filter. So it's probably a Revell Hurricane MK1. :O

dazdaz 12th Nov 2008 14:40

Or maybe the MK IIC?................

I give up on which series it is (or mark). Open house.

dazdaz 12th Nov 2008 17:36

Since I started this post, I've noticed that the replies have been 'slightly' pro to circa 40-45-50 prop a/c.
While I'm in favour of how postings 'swing' I think jet a/c should be brought back into the 'theme' of the original post.........................

747/200/300?............

FlightlessParrot 16th Nov 2008 02:45

Looks a bit Convair XB-46

RETDPI 16th Nov 2008 07:23

Curtiss XF-87 ( a.k.a. Nighthawk)

FlightlessParrot 16th Nov 2008 07:52

@RETDPI

That's more like it -- I was a bit worried it didn't look as elongated as the XB-46. According to Wikipedia, the Curtiss was called the Blackhawk.

evansb 16th Nov 2008 07:54

Yes, it is a Curtiss XP-87 (XF-87) Blackhawk. RETDPI has control.

RETDPI 16th Nov 2008 10:46

Thanks evansb,
According to United States Army and Air Force Fighters- 1916 -61 ( Bruce Robertson et al.)
XF-87 Cn 45-59600 and 46 522 - "Nighthawk"
XF-87A Cn 46-522 only ( and not flown) "Blackhawk"

Take your pick :8

In the meantime...

Looks a bit like a bi-plane version of the Amiot 143. How about a Breguet BR 41?
