Post # 1999 (9:52) before Tu.114 at Post # 2000 (11:16).
The thing is though that when I clicked "Submit Reply" I got a message along the lines of "Your post will not be visible until reviewed". A short time later Tu-114's post appeared with no sign of mine.
Is this because of my probationary status? Anyway, here's another...

Very likely - i certainly saw Tu.114 's reply before yours. i seem to remember something similar when I started posting.

OK, thanks for that info Doug.

Doug, that's impressive! From a fifties Jane's, I thought that might have been a stumper!

All yours mate.

one11 25th May 2009 13:00

Noyade ...yes my source was 1950s too , although not Janes.

Seems high wing single prop lightplanes and modern kit-builds have so many look-alikes that at least people have to take time sorting through all the sources, so here is another one of the former...........

One11

Not sure if its just me, but I'm not seeing your images...

I'm sure i could see 'em before.

regards

John

S'land 26th May 2009 10:53

No problems here seeing One11's pictures. If you are using Adblock it is worth checking to see if you have pictures from One11 blocked.

Regarding the current challenge, let's start the ball rolling with an Aeronca K.

Noyade 26th May 2009 11:39

No problems viewing the image from down under.

Lycoming/Continental powered Auster?

one11 26th May 2009 12:00

Drawbarz .....Image was loaded via Photobucket same as all mine so far, so maybe the problem is at your end...

S'Land , Noyade Sorry not an Auster or Aeronca.

Doug

Tu.114 26th May 2009 12:55

Somehow this plane makes me look to Denmark... By any chance the Kramme and Zeuthen KZ-VII?

Kieron Kirk 26th May 2009 13:01

F.M.A.20 El Boyero.

Ciarain.

drawbarz 26th May 2009 13:29

Doug,

It is at this end. I am at work and for some strange reason known only to the IT department they are blocking your photobucket...I can log on to mine and all the other images are appearing on the thread...and as usual the IT guys are out to lunch...

I'll have to wait til I get home before I can play..:{

Re. post 2009. A Taylorcraft?

S'land 26th May 2009 17:18

Luscombe 8?

one11 26th May 2009 18:02

With the possible assistance of Drawbarz' IT department, the winner is .....
Kieron Kirk - who has control

Argentine FMA.20 or Petrolini EL Boyero 65 hp Continental powered, designed 1939 - in production from 1947

one11,

One of the consequences of having been a member of the Royal Observer Corps!

Good and obscure post!

Can I throw it open for the next post?

Ciarain.

I'm sorry to jump ahead and I don't mean to disturb your policies but I will be absent on business for several days and I was anxious to challenge this silhouette if somebody can see it.

Am I right in thinking that Noyade's challenge is still open and, therefore, the one to go for?

If so may I suggest the Porterfield 35?

Noyade 29th May 2009 21:25

Sorry S'land, not a Porterfield, but it was American. Despite the promising brochure blurb which included the line "The finest light airplane on market regardless of price", only one was built in 1938 and it was eventually donated to a local high school as a vocational airframe.

Is the design related to Luscombe, Monocoupe, or the Howard DGA-6?
