Lyon Satalas ?
Not been there for about 10 years.
If right, open floor.

zlin77 15th Dec 2007 09:29

Looks like Incheon International (RKSI), South Korea, photo taken from The Hyatt Hotel.

Looking at that huge roundabout, or as they call them in the USA "Rotary", and the traffic direction I would say it was either in North America or on the continent.

KMG 365 16th Dec 2007 21:59

evansb's challenge

I'm pretty sure that is Central Airport in Camden, New Jersey.

evansb 17th Dec 2007 00:39

KMG 365 is correct. Well done:D Central Airport in Camden, New Jersey also served as Philadelphia's main airport as well until the 1950s. Camden Airport was closed in 1955. You have control.

KMG 365 17th Dec 2007 04:02

Thank you, evansb.

This one should be easy.

That's the old tower at Hannover.

KMG 365 17th Dec 2007 13:02

Yes, Hannover it is. Over to you, Flap40.

old,not bold 17th Dec 2007 18:03

Reminds me of Southend

Flap40 17th Dec 2007 18:13

Sorry, not Southend.

Flap40 17th Dec 2007 20:37

Brum is correct or Elmdon as my mother still insists on calling it!

Moondance 17th Dec 2007 20:46

Dundee I think

A mere 5 minutes....yes!

LFT 17th Dec 2007 21:09

Insch, without a doubt.

LFT 17th Dec 2007 21:13

MReyn24050 17th Dec 2007 21:22

Belfast City Airport?

LFT 18th Dec 2007 09:01

Not Belfast City.

Duckbutt 18th Dec 2007 09:59

Runway 08 at Philadelphia International?

LFT 18th Dec 2007 10:42

Correct Duckbutt!

Duckbutt 18th Dec 2007 11:44

Probably not too difficult:

Fishtailed 18th Dec 2007 11:50

CARLISLE (Lake District International)

Moondance 18th Dec 2007 12:06

I'd go for Staverton (and the Skyfame Museum)

Duckbutt 18th Dec 2007 12:18

You have it, Moondance, exactly right.

The SSK 18th Dec 2007 12:32

Far too much interesting hardware for Carlisle. The one time I was there the only aircraft on the field were two Austers and a Derby Airways Dak. And it was bleak and windy...

Moondance 18th Dec 2007 12:45

I can see why Fishtailed went for Carlisle...the hills, the Hastings...TG518 mouldering at Carlisle about 35 years ago

Meanwhile, back at the quiz.....

Ok, next one -

Flap40 18th Dec 2007 19:39

Since it is open house, try this.

Lower Hangar 19th Dec 2007 07:58

The McDonnell Douglas works in St Louis

LFT 19th Dec 2007 09:15

Nope, sorry,

Phileas Fogg 19th Dec 2007 09:23

Was the pic taken in the month of May and is that snow that can be seen on grass areas?

LFT 19th Dec 2007 10:32

Ah, the old "right click properties trick" :E May yes, snow no.

Phileas Fogg 19th Dec 2007 12:23

Well that b*ggered my theory, snow in May was something of a lead, the buildings look kind of Scandinavian, there might be a canal in the pic (bottom left) which gives rise to The Netherlands and cannot figure out if, to the right, it is a shopping complex or a factory of some desciption.
So what are all the spuradic blobs of white bottom right, to the left of the runway and indeed amongst, what seem to be, the light aircraft ..... please?

And ..... why are pedestrians only allowed to cross at one end of the runay? :)
