Researching WW2 RAF pilot records
Hi all,
I recently discovered a close friend’s grandfather served in the RAF during WW2 flying Spitfires. Is there a way to do some research online about his service records/flights logged/maybe even air to air combat? I have his full name but that’s it.
Many thanks,
BD

The surviving combat reports are available online via the National Archives https://www.nationalarchives.gov.uk/help-with-your-research/research-guides/raf-combat-reports-1939-1945/ That page has links to other useful resources.
Your friend can apply for his grandfather's service record from the MOD - details at: https://www.gov.uk/government/collec...ervice-records
