I had not appreciated how long it takes for posts to be approved for new members, so my apologies for holding the forum up whilst you wait for my posts to appear.

Name that Flying Machine Challenges
Dear Fellow Pprune-ers,
I you are interested you can find all previous challenges on this thread in an Excel table in the attached ZIP-file.
I will try to update at the end of the year.
If you have ideas for improvements or when find some spelling errors (especially type numbering), Please let me know via PM.
When the aircraft types listed in reddish background then the original post or photo in the post has gone missing.
Special attention for the 2 challenges which could not yet be solved with the collective knowledge available (post 1356 and 3441)
Thread rules
Do NOT try to solve and post your challenge as quick as possible.
There are no points for winners; there is no scoreboard for the quickest solver.
One must get his/her own satisfaction from solving the challenge by own observation and searching.
Please give other Pprune-ers in other time zones a chance to search for themselves.
Much fellow solvers are put-off when somebody else posts the answer quickly.
Only benefit of posting the correct answer is that will give the right to post another challenge.
If you do not have a challenge ready you should ask yourselves if you should answer within 24-hours.
Asking for clues or posting questions is allowed, but the poster of the challenge is not required to answer everything.
If you are not the poster of the challenge and you think you know the answer, then please be very careful when posting clues.
A mysterious clue for one person might be a give-a-way for others.
Please let the poster of the challenge decide how he/she wants to run the challenge.
The more experienced solvers are asked to refrain from answering for about 24-hours to give the less experienced in all time zones a fair chance.
The challenger should not reveal the winner within 24-hours.
Thread moderators will ban or zip compulsive posters.
If the winner has no challenge available or has no time to follow the thread and manage the challenge then he/she can declare Open House.
Nobody can check if you use image recognition tools or other AI.
If you get satisfaction out of using these tools to solve the challenge then nobody can forbid that but please DO NOT POST THE ANSWER.
