How curious, to know the answer to the challenge, but declining to name the aircraft, while providing definite clues. If I were to name the aircraft, based on those clues, who wins the challenge then? Noyade, or I?
Methinks, if you know the answer, then say it, or do not respond.
But of course, just my little cent (or penny).

Sometimes the regulars do this to allow the newbies or the less fanatical to have a go, win a prize and get hooked................. much the same as some poker players I know

The person who names the challenge, does not get points so it is not a game with winners and rankings. He is only the one who gets the right to post a new challenge.
As Noyade has the biggest knowledge base (in books and brains) and apparently also time to spend, he could name almost every challenge but he would scare others away and less other people get the opportunity to post a challenge.

Apologies and thanks for your thoughts - I will endeavor to do this in the future. Unfortunately my child-like brain gets very excited when I instantly recognise something such as Bear's excellent challenge. I have had that publication for fifty years and for the first time it actually triggered a solution. I just had to share..

"Twin seaplane and floatplane" is a LONG list
however it's European - and Noyades addition shows it has skis also fitted - which isn't that common IIRC in Europe.
So let's guess at Northern Europe??
