Much fun and roguery went on in the hangar. My late-uncle was an inspector, and my dad ran the MT section, so know lots of them. Management tended to tolerate some of the jinks, knowing that they would get stuck in when required, and produce excellent work.
There are probably many stories. One I recall is of the tanks of a stored DC3 mysteriously found to be drained of Avgas. Meanwhile, some engineer's cars suddenly attained new levels of performance...

Did you mean the BRMs, (Boeing Repair Men), LHR based but many sourced from Luton, managed to keep the 707s flying for all the operations worldwide, and believe me they have many a story to tell.
