I don't see that happening with any more Vulcans.

Southend Vulcan
Hi
As a member of eng team at XL426 Vulcan restoration trust southend airport , We are sadly never going to be able to fly our Vulcan due to lack of spares engines and money .
We are there for putting all our efforts into restoring 426 into a full ground running a/c so we can carry out fast taxi runs and educate the young in the cold war and more than anything British engineering at it's best .
Hope this made our aim more clear for more info please see our website www.avrovulcan.com

A quick question mr 426 if I may. Last October I was taking a flight from SEN and popped over to the cafe to have a coffee and a butchers at the Vulcan. There appeared to be a fuel lorry fuelling said aircraft which made me wonder why. It was just before those very strong winds battered the UK and might it have been for the purposes of ballast ?

Thanks for the reply mr426, one of the other people drinking outside the cafe asked one of the ATC staff who was starting their shift, if the Vulcan was getting ready to take-off The answer was comical to say the least.
