"Bodies" would have to be some journalistic invention. "Human remains" would be a more accurate description. There's not a lot left to gather up after 70 yrs of decomposition.
Those divers deserve some kind of award, for trawling through scattered aircraft wreckage on the bottom of lake, trying to find human remains, after 70 yrs.

Onetrack, in fact in many of our lakes remains have been recovered in a good state of preservation after many years, one lake in which I dived doing a similar task ,{in this case a civil aircraft wreck}we were able to recover all the remains in a pretty good state of preservation, this being due to the fact that the lower levels in many lakes never get much above freezing, in this case the hulk had been on the bottom for about sixty years. There are wrecks from the War Of 1812 which are off limits as they are grave sites , the bones of the crew being in an almost perfect state of preservation. A grim subject indeed, but one of great interest these days in Canada as the search for the Franklin expedition wrecks goes on.
