I thought "back each afternoon" was a better description for the domestic side of things.

Apologies to Alitalia.

"All ladies in transit always leave in agony".

As for Qantas.....

Surely BOAC means "Better off at Caledonian".

Ciarain.

PAL - Plane Always Late

PWA - Please Wait Awhile

Trans Texas Airways - Tree Top Airlines or Tinker Toy Arlines

When Trans-Texas Airways changed its name to Texas International Airlines, the company ran newspaper ads showing a Tinker Toy airplane flying along treetops. The copy read "No More Tinker Toys. No More Treetops. We are now Texas International Airlines."
