A great airline - but I remember it as Boys Overseas After Crumpet

A very sweet young Chinese lady in Orchard Road Singapore circa 1972 had been told by well known, very naughty BOAC steward a different version:

Boys Overseas After C***

She told me this in total innocence as I stood opened jawed in disbelief!

My favorite was SAHSA of Honduras 'Stay at home stay alive'. They did eventually go out of business at least partly due to their safety record, so there is many a true word spoken in jest.

Delta: Don't Ever Land There Again - referenced to their habit (admittedly some time ago) of landing at the wrong airport.

Our CRM classes at the time were anchored on Delta's less than auspicious experiences.

But fair enough, one length of tarmac looks very much like another. Best however to get the supposed localizer in the box.

ETOPS

Some time about 1992 when I was at Boeing working on the 777 we were in a meeting in which a bunch of airline types were present. As the meeting progressed, the subject of ETOPS was presented. From the back of the room came the voice of one of the airline reps, " Hell, I know what that means! Engines Turn Or People Swim." That loosened up the meeting quite a bit.

Glaswegion recalls his transatlantic flight

From a movie/ tv program (mid 70's ?), of which I don't remember the title, I never forgot a line where a Glaswegian character was asked which airline he had travelled on.
His answer was "Twah"
The camera then panned to show the red TWA logo....
Was it LHR ???
Anyone know which tv \ movie?

Yes I remember that line. I think it might have been in an episode of Taggart but I also thought Minder as well.
