Post YQA- bomber base?

When I did my cross-country a few years back one of my stops was Muskoka (CYQA). I had heard that it was built to train Lancaster crews during the war, which sounds reasonable when one considers that it's located at the precise centre of nowhere in an area that is best suited for floatplanes (lakes everywhere, lots of cottages and no major population centres) yet has a 6000' x 150' runway. It would hardly have made sense to build it for any purpose other than training with large aircraft. Does anybody know more about this field?

If you go to the following web address, you will find some details on the history of Muskoka Airport, including it's wartime service.
