Gnat or Hunter Forced Landing in Addington late 1950's

Hi All,

I was chatting to my brother yesterday and he says that in the late 50's either a Gnat or a Hunter had a 'flame out' at the Biggin Hill airshow and force landed on the main road in Addington. He and another brother of mine + a large crowd were there several days later when it flew out.

Does anybody have any details please?

Regards,

C23

Don't think there were any Gnats in service before '61/'62, so must have been a Hunter.
