Insomnia has driven me from my bed to the computer.

Has to be the Bristol Beaufighter - the "whispering death".

Quite the worst case of 'Premature Injeculation' known to AvMed science!

Or, as Dr Spooner might have observed:

"Brogue Duster."

Certainly not, but I do know the name of the culprit.

'Premature Injeculation'
Is that not what Nimrod pilots suffered when a blip might have been a sub?

In deep eh... apologies....only a fighter pilot can manage that...........

Very nice LM, thanks A 57 Sqn K1A (although the a/c came to us on 214 after 57 converted to K2s). Is that a 29 Sqn F3? I assume you're sitting in the other one. Why did they have three XXXs - could never work that out? Somewhere over the Alps I assume - great picture.

Anyone going to take up the Open House?

Back to the thread, and for TTN and LM. "Starting off, a king ran over the Italian rail incline" (airfield). Timer running, it's easy.

It is indeed a 29 Sqn F3 en-route to Cyprus.

The story is that back in the WW1 era, the squadron commander told an erk finisher to paint 29 in Roman numerals on the fuselages of the aircraft.

The painter asked what 29 was in Roman numerals, to which the boss said
"XX1X" - so that's exactly what he painted, two Xs on one side of the roundel and the "oneX" on the other.
