but there must be someone out there with a smattering of brain cells.

Are we allowed to give in and have another one - just a teensy, weensy bit easier?

To help things along:
'Staff' led NutherA2 correctly to 'Pike'; Aubagne is home to the French Foreign Legion, who wear a Kepi. 'Tip' Kepi to get Pike.
Young's Modulus and the Rotational Constant will tidy things up to find a forum favourite; our antipodean correspondents will be pleased.

Threads such as these only maintain an interest if they keep moving.
I regularly set a quiz in an internet chat room (not aviation related). It's tricky judging your audience - make the questions too easy and it becomes a matter of who can type fastest, make them too hard and people get fed up never knowing the answers and don't come back.
I've had a couple of goes setting a clue on here which were obviously too easy (solved in less than an hour each time) but on the other hand this one is now around a fortnight old with no sign of being solved. Might I respectfully suggest we aim for something midway between 'Daily Mirror' and 'Listener' - 'Telegraph' standard perhaps?
Ready to be flamed if it's not what people want.
