Hi Spook,

.just for the avoidance of doubt..that would be a fixed single wing as opposed to rotary
Let there be no doubt about it, it is a well known parasol-wing, designed by a renowned guru in the field of home-built and experimental light aircraft!

No sir, not Mr Clutton; this one is closely associated with a hugely popular annual airshow!

Sorry, not those guys either.

This machine is much later than the Heath Parasol, but its design was inspired by it.

Delve into the Experimental Aircraft Association (EAA) beginnings and you'll find his name (which was shortened for use in his aircraft)

Well done spook, you got there in the end and learnt a lot to boot

It is indeed the Pober P-9 Pixie

The aircraft was built in 1976 by the Experimental Aircraft Chapter 85 at Delta, British Columbia. The Canadian registration was cancelled on May 11, 1987. The aircraft was sold to the USA and two weeks later, May 27, the aircraft was registered as N46S to Tom Stratton of Arlington, Washington, and still is as of this day.

The Guru is here: Paul Poberezny - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

My pleasure, thanks for persevering

I'm at work at the moment and have only been monitoring and pasting pre-prepared clues, so I won't be able to hunt your challenge down 'til work is finished. Hopefully there'l be others around soon, be patient

Evening Spook,

Finished work now, so time for a look. However, I think skytrain may have beaten me to it.

It looks like a wing-hung General Electric (or maybe a Trent) and you can just see part of a twin-axle bogie main-gear, so an Airbus A330 is a good candidate?

Is this your own photo, taken at or near your place of work?

If so, and you're not trying to put us off the scent in keeping with your "name", your "location" gives me a good idea where that may be! I didn't think they serviced anything that large there, but I've just looked on Giggle Earth and there's an Airbus parked nearby, so who knows!!

Must admit hadn't looked at the location...to the best of my knowledge there are no heavy maintenance facilities there (at least not for something of that size).so I'm presuming it's at a different location?

Edit to say calling it a night now....in the unlikely event that I'm correct it will have to be Open House.

Apologies - I got dragged away and have only just got back!
Sinco - not deliberately trying to confuse - I just hadn't updated my present location (my children keep track of me this way).
Skytrain - very close but not quite there - correct manufacturer though.

Afternoon spook,

I see you've upped-sticks from my favourite airfield

I think I'm going to up the number on the Airbus and take a punt at a RR-Trent on the A340 on the grounds of the proximity of the bogie type main landing gear!
