Prop to the left? Looks like a 100mm X 5mm piece of plate steel jutting out at top right, some sort of strut?

(Glad your Payen image sorted itself out)

Looks like a very small exhaust; the surrounding structure gives it some scale, may be 3-4" diameter. Some sort of light drone helicopter?

Neither a strut nor a prop,Noyade, and thank you for your help.
Not a Drone,HC.
Quite a heavy piece of machinery and jet powered.

STOVL aircraft by any chance?

The bit top right is surely an antenna?

See what you mean, must be a fairly short list; not Harrier, so maybe Rockwell VF12 or Yak 36 Forger?

I think we may be looking up, obliquely, at the fore or aft end of an under-body fairing, hence the bilge access plate and antenna. Fore/aft axis runs top right to bottom left of shot.

Don't think it's a Yak, and I'm going off the idea that it's STOVL. Could be a military aircraft's APU exhaust or similar...

Well timed return Ken, I just got home!

Stick with that initial thought mate, it is the Beriev R-1

The first Soviet turbojet-powered flying boat. Experience gained during the test programme with the R-1 was used in the development of the Beriev Be-10.

skytrain10 has control
