At first I thought it might be the Tu144.

Doesn't look like the Rolls-Royce/Snecma Olympus 593 as in Concorde though, but I suppose it might be......

Yes, it is resting on the ground, on top of a half-rotten piece of wood.

Correction: It is close the ground, but the piece of wood is behind it.

I see a divergent exhaust, so guessing it isn't a jet at all.

Another type of propulsion system?
