It was taken with a pretty standard pocket camera with a pretty decent built-in lens, so you're right in thinking we weren't all that high up. Not long before landing, to be fair. Might even have been seatbelts-on at that stage, but it was 2011 so can't exactly remember...

Sorry, I missed your previous comment as I was typing mine. Wikipedia tells me that it is still an active airfield, with possibly an active squadron or squadrons, but it's vague and might not have been updated recently, so I can't say with any certaintly I'm afraid. Popping out now for an hour or so. If nobody's got it on my return I might stop being so obtuse

I was thinking of giving it to oxenos with 'Schimitari', but seeing as this is 'Which Aerodrome?' not 'What's the name of the town in the photo?' I'm going to have to give it to dook. Tanagra it is. Quite a well-known airfield: I remember seeing it named in Military Aircraft markings back in my spotting days.
