Looks like crushed coral.couple of local wallahs; flying kites in first pic,but looks Indian ocean area...

Boabab trees are found in Africa, Madagascar and NW Australia - nvubu's photos are certainly not taken in Australia.

So I think that rules out North West Africa - but maybe you should define what you think is NW Africa.

The northern limit of its distribution in Africa is associated with rainfall patterns; only on the Atlantic coast and in the Sudan does its occurrence venture naturally into the Dahel.
Think this is along the Ferry route from Natal so it could be early Dakar,Bathurst,,Monrovia....

Nope - Kaolack still has an Airport visible.
The mystery one is clearly recognisable in the 1984 -> 2010 overheads. Bit more indistinct after that due to aroad péage being built through it.
