Thanks dook. The aircraft type was the clue as you said. When I first saw it I thought it was a Luscombe but realised it wasn't. Now I know that Don Luscombe designed the 90A!

Perhaps after a decent interval of OH, anyone fancy this? One visit, Royal Family, boot full of Coca Cola. I hope consideration may be given to a particular dictionary.
Back to Gander:
About 30-40 years ago, there was a superb collection of photos on a mezzanine floor in the terminal, of aircraft that had passed through, with particular emphasis on the 1930s. The abiding theme was "He departed Gander on (insert date) bound for (insert European destination) and was never seen again...…………………….."
Perhaps too ominous for nervous passengers about to cross the Atlantic. The last time I stopped there, about 1991, the terminal had recently been redeveloped and the photos had gone. I do hope they have been preserved somewhere appropriate.

No to Middle East. Sorry somewhat dilatory this morning, delayed. Short drive in the 'dead ground' which Fred would have used before leading his Chipmunks into the display.
