The present strip can just about be made out running diagonally top right to bottom left with a farm track next to it.

Here now. That's it. Believe it featured in a John Buchan book, with his hero escaping courtesy of a chum with RFC machine from Montrose. Very familiar, of course, to those who plied the oil routes up and down the East coast of the United Kingdom.

No - having been to both though I can see why you might think so - it's a bit warmer (some of the year) and not too far from a major river
Lafonia is about as flat a part of the world as you could wish for .... but this is a long way from there
It has seen better days........
I think the back dots may be electricity pylons built since the airport was closed
