Morning Ken.

Sorry mate - I was also a little confused last night - I was looking at another image I had stored.

Prolly that nice bottle of port I had been given.

edit: I have to leave in any case in twenty minutes for a couple of hours of lecturing.

Blimey mate - it seems to have a float in mid-air above the cockpit.

Could give a clue as to the location of the wing

Morning Martin

No, yes and yes

I should be technically correct here. Because of the era, this aircraft is from the USSR. I am not entirely sure if it was built in Russia, or a former Soviet state, although I believe the latter.

OK, so a high-wing (with wing-tip floats?). However, it also sems to have buoyancy gear along the fuselage, al la Dornier?

Yes

Not sure about the buoyancy gear though, nothing obvious in the 3-view or photo.

The photo does exhibit some differences to the side view I have used, albeit nothing that would prevent recognition of the challenge. The most obvious difference is that the tail is partially filled in, as well as a different profile to the underside of the fuselage. Whether these were just inaccuracies on the original 3-view used or changes to the design I don't know. Anyway, I'll post a revised silhouette shortly.

Revised silhouette to reflect differences between photo and 3-view:

Is it actually from a Russian flying boat designer?

Not a company (or designer) particularly known for flying boats.

Clue, this can best be described as a homebuild or perhaps more accurately, an amateur design.

Which is why nothing comes up - I've been through all of them.

Mmm, this one seems to be proving difficult

Perhaps you're thinking it's older than it is....1970's design. It used major components from other aircraft, as well as a boat!
