K.g Robinson Gec-ee 1946-76

I have been shown a gold Garrard wristwatch today which has inscribed on the back the following;

GEC-EE
K.G.ROBINSON
1946-1976

And just wondered if anyone could shed any light on who the gentleman was ?
As i would have imagined he had a possible RAF wartime career with him going to GEC-EE ?.

Heres hoping

The memory dims but I seem to remember that at the time GEC awarded a 30 year long service award which took the form of a gold watch. GEC and English Electric merged in 1968, so it would appear that our K.G.R had a combined service with the two companies.
If he started out life with EE, he was one of the lucky ones as the merger led to 12,000 redundancies. Weinstock took no prisoners.
