Kingman Boneyard Arizona
Has anyone visited this graveyard that could give me some info. Planning a trip to Arizona next month and will be passing through Kingman. I understand there is a big graveyard there and would like to know if you can walk round it /take a tour. Very little on line about it.

You can talk to the KIGM airport manager to see what he says about 'looking around', however...a company called Airline Services has the master lease on the storage areas, and they generally do not like casual observers.

I looked into this myself and learned that generally, no one is allowed into the Davis-Monthan facility. Who you want to talk to is the Pima Air Museum across the street. They have loaned examples of many of the stored aircraft. And they also have what you want - a bus tour of the facility. I think they are the only way "into" the boneyard:

My HARS mates passing through dropped in and from there photos there wasn't too much.
The place to go is Seligman, just up the I-40 on the way to Flagstaff...shades of R-66!!

I drove from LAS to IGM it took about just under 2 hours (There are lots of roadworks around the Hoover Dam).IGM is the same as ever you just drive around and get out where you want to read things off from.I went for my last 5 Continental Express EMB135s.All are there except about 5 which were there and have now gone.All the DHL A300s are there and lots of DHL B727s.I only log what I need but I did log N609AW BAE146 old United colors also N336UA and N338UA B737/3s United and N205AM MD87 Aeromexico colors all these are just hulks and wont be there much longer.
No Security Problems here in fact the only people I seen in the hour I were there were fellow spotters.

Just confirming stevemcmli's comments, I too have driven round Kingman without any issues. The only other people I saw there were Dutch spotters. Well worth a visit. There are no organised tours but if you particularly need to go airside then would suggest contacting the airport operator in advance of your trip.
I don't know anything about Seligman. I stopped off there once a few years back but there was nothing there (not even one aircraft!). Maybe thats changed now but I cannot see any references to it being used for storage.
Not sure where else you are going, but would suggest Tucson (the main airport), Falcon Field (Mesa), Goodyear, Marana (strictly no admittance there), Davis Monthan, Avra Valley, Ryan Field to name but a few.
Enjoy the trip.

Post 2 implies there is no organised tour....which is, or rather was, correct as of a year ago. Maybe that has now changed?

I was in Kingman about four or five years ago and they had a small museam that a few old timers were try to develop. Just donations to keep it open. It had a good collection of pictures and various parts that came from the airfield from as far back as WWll. The guys running the place seemed to be a wealth of knowledge and were more than willing to share their experience and stories with there guests.
As I recall there were a few TWA L1011's sitting there with a lot of commuter size aircraft. Roswell, NM is a much better facility for bone yard viewing IMO.

Have a look on GoogleEarth...it may be a few years old but it will give you an idea of what you'll find at the various storage areas. Spooky is right, Roswell is a good one (over 200 plus aircraft I believe) but is a long drive!

You can use googlemap / google earth to find your route. Maybe there are travel companies that offers a trip to the boneyard. Maybe you can also have Arizona tours at the same time.
