That's it's exact name, but most of us accept a general name so as not to be pedantic, as some people have been in the past.

I mean, what's the difference between a Spitfire Mk14 and 16 -they are Spitfires.

Thanks RegDep...it was Aerofiles where I found the photo's but could'nt see one that matched! But after posting I a photo of the one B-7 Sport (NC869N) which was converted from the B-4 and I'm sure that was your aircraft. An excellent challenge!

Standy-by gentlemen.

Thought it would go quickly! I think there is some question over whether its the C1 or C2, so I would have accepted either. All yours LM.

Trying to get a perspective...presume we are viewing it from slightly behind? Guessing its a twin jet?

The view is from the right rear quarter.

It is not a twin-jet.

The "hump" in front of the fin is the left wingtip.

Lets try the other obvious route....no visible signs of power, so perhaps its a glider?

The Bristol XLRQ navy assault glider?

Bingo mate - you've got your own back!

The lights are on, the curtain is coming up, and you enter stage left.

The only original photographs are taken on the ground and the retractable undercarriage is lowered.

I removed the gear and put it in what I think is a fairly representative nose-down glide attitude.

I would estimate that the lift/drag ratio would have been about 12.

I know......I know..... I'll bugger off.

I was thinking it was more like 14! Only joking, haven't a clue really.

Time for my pasta now...
