You may take note of the place where the first pic was taken. Mombasa, Kenya, 13 January 1972. She's been around.

Mombasa - Moi International (MBA / HKMO), Kenya. That's what the photo says. Go figure.

Good afternoon to you Martin.

Yes, three-step floats are unusual, but were used on this North European aeroplane.

BTW, it's a pity we don't see the Stig today. I have several lined up on his behalf.

Might achieve 3500 post by the end of the month. Won't that just upset the Wizard of Oz!!!

Not a burner in sight, David.....

Although the image doesn't show it because the rudder is deflected to the right, it is semi-circular - significant

If it's a glider it's very unusual with a cantilever wing.

Can't make out whether it's powered or not mate.

I have to also say this the image was taken part-way through construction. There were struts etc added later. Yes, a glider. A one-off. It is on the web .... deep in the bowels... This was a scan though

Then methinks it's WW2 vintage, maybe a one-off from Waco.

WACO CG-4 prototype XCG-4, two built by Waco themselves?

Edit: Or, in fact XCG-1, 2 or 6. Cannot say which.

It was a "home-built". Not a yank. A one-off. 1920s I think, I'll check
