Is that some form of cable drum in view between the seats and jost for'ard?

I'd go with a seaplane of some sort. A Saro perhap?

I believe it's an SES (Seaplane Experimental Station) Felixstowe F.2 or, perhaps, an F.3 (developed from the American Curtis H-12 seaplane)

I was reminded of the Douglas A-20 Boston (based on memories of the unmade 1/48 kit that's in my stash...) Am I even vaguely warm?
