Yellowjack flies at Kemble
Yesterday 29 August 2005 at 1500hrs, XS102 Gnat T1 took off on it's first flight after a 2 year repair and restoration project.
Deltajets staff, led by Steve Chittleborough worked almost continuously on the Gnat over the past 2 months and, despite a number of setbacks, overcame all the obstacles to put this beautiful areoplane back in the air.
A few minor snags were evident during the airtest flown by Andy Cubin, but nothing that would prevent the aircraft being displayed at both Biggin Hill and Leuchars, the last two major airshows of the season.
Massive congratulations to the selfless volunteers at Deltajets for their unwavering determination to complete this huge undertaking.

Yes indeed! Well done, team - glad to know that another Folland 'Pocket Rocket' has taken to the air again!
May you never need to STUPRECCC or CUBSTUNT - and beware of the infamous Anglesey solicitors 'Spydd, Trwm & Unllwch'!

While it's a good effort getting the Gnat airborne, I think the Duxford folks would dispute that there are only 2 more major airshows this year. There's a big one there on 10/11 Sept with, hopefully, 18 Spitfires and 6 Hurricane in the air along with the usual suspects..

How about a duet?
With our own project of getting XR537 back in the air, how about arranging some RAFAT nostalgia flights next year - a Yellowjack and genuine Reds Gnat would surely bring some oomph to the air show circuit?
